Unless you were a member of snot or know Lynn.. Let the subject rest. Stop disrespecting the band, especially on their own website. Lynn wasn't that type of person.. I never knew him, but I know he didn't hold grudges. I'm a very spiritual person I can fill what a persons like. So stop putting Lynns' name in bad use. Ok I've seen enough, Snot was a band of five of the most stubborn, thick-headed, individuals ever to placed in one group together, but we were also five good friends that wanted the band to go in as many different directions. Sonny mayo was the first to leave in March of 97, for artistic and personal resons. Each of us in the band had various side projects going on, Sonny, tumor with the M.F. Pitbulls, myself with it hates humans AND HERO. After Ozzfest 97 I decieded after a two year uphill battle trying to get Snots' music out it just wasnt fun anymore. Our entire road crew had quit, our label was folding and I decieded, to be fair to the Snot guys I would leave so they could get a new member that was as passionate about the music of Snot as the remaining members were. When anyone leaves a band it's hard to deal with, you've spent so much time together and you do become closer friends than some. When Sonny left Snot we all felt like the band was missing a huge part and some people who are extremly passionate about things were upset. When I left the band 5 months later the same people were obviously upset.Anyone who has ever been dumped in a relationship should know the exact feeling. So there wasnt this big war or stealing people from bands, Sonny left Snot, we were sad, I left Snot, we were sad, but we move on. Did you ever think maybe I stole Aimee and Scott from HWP? Can't wait for feedback on that. P.S. we all love lynn, so leave it alone

Why is everyone on this kick that Aimee stole Jamie and Mike, They did what they wanted to do and you all like the music so why do you keep complaining about it. Just leave it alone. Lynn did not have a problem with it so why should you guys.

Well "Strait Up" is a very great thing to have. it was kinda sad just because he is gone.. i had the privalge of meeting Lynn at the Roxy.. Snot & Static 1st time i ever seen Snot.. it was one of the most craziest shows.. i was on the stage trying to get pics when half the crowd was on me.. got kicked in the nose..Aimee hooked me up with some ice.. such an awesome girl.. but b4 they played i met him upstars and he was such a happy guy he was like "hey nice to meet u i'm Lynn".. then there was a lil pot smoking.. in the song that Jason fr R.K.L sings he says it just like it happen to me.. got teary...all the songsare rad! I'm with Hyp, if people care enough about someone, whether they are close to their heart personally or emotionally, to go out and make a record in rememberance then we should repect that. It doesn't matter who's on th record and who isn't what matters is that the record has ben made and what it now stands for. The whole idea is beautiful, and every Snot fan should be out buying it. The bonus is that every fan of the other bands may go out and buy it aswell, bringing GOOD music in to the mainstream for a change. Nite! alexa

alot of good issues, and if he gets enough votes this term then he will get more funding for the next time around. if you really want to vote for what you believe in you should, and shouldnt 'assimilate' into the lesser of two evils. telling everyone to denounce what they believe in and 'settle' for something else isnt exactly positive. 'seperate but equal' with the segregation laws and fight for civil rights. if blacks 'settled' for this injustice and didnt fight for what they believed in then where would we be now? same with women's right to vote. its all about standing up for what you believe in. of course i dont think democracy is great or even tolerable in any respect, will one vote really make a difference anyway? no. there has never been an election in history that has been decided by one single persons vote. we are all sanctioned into 'states' not 'people' ..'groups' not 'individuals'... its all a big trough of bullshit we're feeding off of and i dont want any part of it. your truly~alicia

the "Strait Up" project I first heard about about a year and a half ago.. when no record company was interested, it was strait from the fuckin' heart. It however did become a bandwagon when immortal got interested, but I never met LYNN and he touched my life with the song "tecato".. It is possible to write a tribute about a person you've never known. Thats like saying the president doesn't effect your life, cause you never met him. The "Strait Up" Project has a very good key to it and that is ALOT of fuckin' heart. It is not for the bills, its to carry on a life that was horribly cut short. Much Respect to everyone, Late.

I think we have to expect certain people who can't spell coming onto the board to talk shit about people. We know better, so that's enough I guess. As for Strait up, I was under the impression that it was done as a tribute with the material that had been made for the second album. Regardless of whether the artists were Close friends of Lynn or not, I guess the important thing for the band was to get people who could do the songs justice. I'm sure there were people who knew Lynn better than Corey from Slipknot, but if the guy sings the song with passion and integrity, it surely doesn't matter. All I know is that Sonny from Amen was pretty damn passionate about it when I talked to him. Can't wait to hear his contribution. Have all you lucky Americans voted like good people?

For the comment made about Aimee stealing Jamie and Mike from Lynn, that is not true I was at the ozzfeast and on the bus with the band and Aimee and Lynn got along like brother and sister. As for the fact of the stealling part Jamie and Mike both wanted to go a diffrent way with there music so that is why they left. So untill you know the facts keep your mouth shut.

i'm going to comment on this once and probably only once. this may be long so get comfy. now my thoughts on strait up are as follows - the essence has been lost, people have forgotten what it's about. i'm hoping that with all the time...nearly 2 years after lynn's death (rip lynn & dobbs) that the album shows we had to wait for a wonderful tribute to be paid. as for tairrie not being on it - i'm not exactly sure what that is about and i once heard her say in a live chat that she couldn't wait so long to pay tribute to lynn and that is why my ruin covered stoopid on a single - an excellent cover check it out if you haven't. then this year released on a prayer... they did another tribute to lynn - rockstar. a truly amazing song if you ask me. i've had many discussions over this and yes there probably was enough artists to be on strait up to make it a huge huge huge tribute album. no one quite knew the slipknot tie in. and i'm sure that those chose friends of lynn's who could simply try or even bring the same emotion into the music that lynn himself did. i know there are others that should have been on it but they weren't - there's not much you can do about that. the release date is today and i hope that all snot fans are going to pick it up and remember it's not about who's on it, it's about losing a great artist named lynn strait. if there are kids picking it up cuz they think there are "kewl" artists on it then why not show them guidance into the music of snot? i have been doing so since i first got into snot and it's like a tribute to lynn and snot - to keep the music and memory alive. today i will be picking up the album then returning home to listen to it full blast with a candle lit in memory. all i ask is that maybe instead of worrying about who is on it and who isn't - you should infact remember the reason for this tribute. take care and byebyez. -amanda

Slipknot only knew Lynn from when Snot played Des Moines, and they hung out with him there. and no, Tairrie isn't in the video. I think the Strait Up project is a disappointment, it seems hardly a tribute but a way to make money off of Lynn's death. that said, I will still buy it.. I just hope all the kids who buy it cuz the Korn guy or Bizkit guy are on it, go buy "Get Some".

there are probably enough singers to have been on strait up three times over...but i too am wondering about the slipknot thing...i know lynn died in december of 98, and to my knowledge slipknot was dicking about in LA around that time recording at indigo ranch. am i wrong? still, i think its a little odd...the one thing i i cant figure out. yeah im not too big a fred durst fan, but the jumping-out-of-the-giant-prop-toilet-while-stark-naked-then-running-and-hiding-from-the-cops-in-ozzy's-bus story cracks me up. to my knowledge it happened to that effect, as durst had dared him to. but what do i know? this is just what ive read around hear and there. other than that, the line-up is awesome...i cant wait to get it...*sigh*

Can somebody on this board tell me why the hell TARRIE B of the band MY RUIN is not on the "STRAIT UP" album? What a joke. LYN and her were close friends and did he even know "SLIPKNOT"? I know this is not politically correct to say but is anyone besides me and everyone else in the LA rock music scene wondering why she is not on this record but people like "FRED DURST and DEZ FAFARA" are on it and the strangest thing of all "KITTY" are in the video from "SEVENDUST".Someone said TARRIE was in the video but then I heard she was not...IS SHE? I had no idea that Tarrie and Aimee were not friends until a guy I know who loves both bands told me. That is sad. They were so tight I thought? Well people come and go and i'm sure they do not hate each other as much as everyone wants to believe.I can't wait for THE START release...I already specially ordered MY RUIN'S "PRAYER RECORD" and it is the heaviest record i've heard so far(far better than KITTY)It's cool that both girls have different things going on. "i am still but seldom silent" ...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...i havent left my house for 4 days now...folks come back tonight from ohio, serious cabin fever, frequent and ample servings of gensing and caffiene have kept me up with only 10 hours out of 72 spent sleeping. i tried the whole thoreau thing out and it didnt work, either. i didnt get enlightened from soaking with the trees, which was rather quite a let down. i have not seen anyone today. i have not seen anyone in three days, and i have spent the past 4 watching a marathon on movies like "Sorority House Massacres" parts 1 and 2, "Cheerleader Camp Terror" (featuring LEIF GARRET AAHAHAHAHAHAHAH), "Summer Camp Nightmare", and last but most definitely not least, the entire series of "Slumber Party Slasher". i have attempted to endure the most horrifying psychological tortures by watching THE most godawful 80's teen horror flicks in existence. will i come out of this alive? tomorrow moring, if i awake, i will treat myself to a scenic drive into town to pick up about 20 copies of Strait Up...people in this town have all given me money for a copy of this album. its neat to think that these same kids have been using napster, havent paid for a cd in virually a year now, could EASILY get this record if they wanted, but each and every one insist on paying for it. now THIS is fucking cool. hopefully, this album will chart, and chart for a long, long time. theyve been running tv advertisements for it for a while now, and even kids who've never HEARD of snot (BLASPHEMY!!!AAAAHHHH!!!!) will see the names of members of virtually every well known heavy band in the scene and will check it out...it'll be a lot of fun...

Just for the record, I lived in essex for the last 16 years, and never found it to be true, which was often very annoying! ;o) These girls have a reputation as being rather easy because they've apparently slept with the entire student committee within 5 weeks. My point was just that I bought them at the slave auction by mistake and then was too nice to order them about. I refered to them as essex girls simply to get the point across. I'd like to address the issue that a lot of you have been wondering about.It is true, Mike has indeed left The Start to pursue other musical endeavors and we wish him luck on his journey... Jamie is now playing guitar along with synthesizers! We've taken to calling him the Swiss Army knife of musicians. Filling in on bass is the ever so fabulous and talented Jeff Jaeger of 30 seconds to Mars. As Jamie has always written all the music for guitars in the band, our sound has not changed but if anything evolved. So there you have it. If nothing changes nothing changes. And, I might add, evolution makes us happy!

Well, things are looking good.. theStart is for sure playing..YAY!!!! MyRuin threw in a show at the whiskey. I went to NRG for the first time tuesday after The Color Red show,it went very well.. NRG is the RADDEST place i have seen.. no wonder great music comes out of that place.. I went to hang with the Ant Farm kids. AAF FANS let me just say the new cd is gonna be AWESOME.. i heard a few new songs and some oldies they were rad!! My friends are all doing well and that makes me very happy.. Man its such a small world Aimee, Dave Schartoff is now in The Color Red, he is awesome! Its crazy how things turn out.. well enough babbling from me.. everyone take care and be safe... yay! another show im going to MISS! AAACK! buckaroo bonzai, huh? i got that instock at work somewhere...ill watch it tomorrow during my shift. so i went to chuck e cheeses for a birthday party and just got my filmed developed. a bunch of photos of intoxicated teenagers extorting tokens and tickets out of small children in the ball pit. whats really eerie though is that they have those little seated rides; the ones in the shapes of trains and what not, where you put a quarter in, set your brood in the seat and watch it bob up and down slowly, right? and there's a camera mounted on the front where you put a token in and it takes a photo of your offspring while theyre riding and spits it out 5 minutes later...so i found all these genuinely creepy back and white blurred images of toddlers crying with a big plastic mouse next to them...theyre just so...CREEPY! AAAACK. february february...thats a ways away. but im used to it...but holy shit, right!? STRAIT UP IN LIKE A FUCKING WEEK! i cannot wait. ill probably skip the gulag that day to pick up my copy when wherever i go opens up. well im off...its time for the fool to get out...

Hey peeps. Had a pretty crappy time so far. The most stunning woman ever took me to a gig, and then proceeded to run off with the bands. Dammit. She was a big HWP fan too! It also meant I had to walk home for 2 hours. Still things aren't to bad. I might even have money on wednesday, and be able to like EAT and stuff. As for "Mad and Obsessive", I think I prefer that! fuck...at around lunch today it was announced here that the israelis have declared war on the palestinians after the plo murdered to captured isaeli soldiers...there was an attack on a us naval vessel in the persian gulf by unkown assailants who loaded a small boat with all sorts of explosives and rammed it into the hull of our ship, causing an explosion that has killed...to my knowledge 2, and injured somewhere into the 30's of our troops, but those numbers are speculative...its all over folks. war...

I am looking for a few people to get a band together around the ages of 16 to whatever.... I am 17 and I write music and lyrics.. play guitar, but recently switching to bass guitar... I also sing and play many other instruments. The sound I am going for is what troubles me on getting a band together. It so hard today to find people open minded enough to go for it. I listen to many different styles of music and therefore I have many influences. So I'm looking for a mesh. I'm NOT talking about a NEW METAL band. NO DJs', sorry. It's kind of hard to think of the sound I'm going for... I'll use artists' as an example. Imagine the punk and reagae sounds of Sublime mixed in with the political and anti-racism of RANCID and Bad Religion mixed in with the shy but raging vocals of chino and a VARIETY of others mixed in together. I know I mostly listed punk bands, but believe I'm not going for a punk sound. If your interested I'll explain the sound better. I will NOT have any of that raging "I Hate Everyone" attitude.. IT GETS OLD, quick. Look at M. Manson for example. I'm looking for a more spiritual felt band, but with a harder edge... acoustic sometimes of course. I DO NOT believe in god so those of you rolling your eyes about the spiritual part, stop it. Spirituallity does not deal with god, its more about being open to yourselves and others and enjoying life.. instead of moping around, because "everything sucks!". I am going to WARN you people interested though, I'm going to try to get a couple issues out their with this band... So some people may not like us that much. I'm going to be mostly bringing up how much people disgust me, with how emotionless they can be and other topics... which I AM NOT talking about for fame, but to try to change the views of at least a few people. He He He in England Kidneythief our government banned guns, after some freak walked into a childrens school and proceeded to shoot everyone. I would thought by all you Americans thought having a rifle or handgun is wrong what with the Columbine High School Massacre. But some people thought it was funny to try and blow up the MI-6 building in central London with a RPG recently. Anyway The Starts record will be outr soon so nobody should fret. I think that it will be a hit, but hopefully I hope The Start and Aimee in particular if they do (somehow in the face of Pop), become faamous don't act like Fred Durst or Richard Patrick. Limp Bizkit are now considered cool over these side of the waters by all the trendies. At least you guys in America don't have to turn on the radio only to hear Dance/Trance/Pop/Jungle and various other shite music. Oh well best wishes to the start.

well i got kicked out detention in school for like the umpteenth time. when you get kicked out of what basically amounts to being the place you go when get kicked out of class its a little unsettling to try and understand where they can send me after that. my offenses are nothing they couldnt cope with if they honestly TRIED. but im not giving up...and there's someone in this christ for saken town that drives a big fucking amateur paintjob camoflauge hummer with a bumpersticker that says "God Bless John Wayne" right above the deliberately visible gunrack in the back of this monster. yeah so the best i could hope for is for 2 or maybe 3 hundred thousand people to move out here to drive these kind of folk further out into bumfuck. Dripping Springs, Tx, pop. 1033. which means me, a few friends like me and about 1000 of these type of people. Personally, id rather live in a gang infested neighborhood where at least i could rest assured knowing that my block is defended by a bunch of street hardened thugs, because it is a little disconcerting knowing that any grizzled old veteran can settle at any point in these woods with a high caliber rifle and a six pack of beer and just wait for something to move. you literally, i mean you LITERALLY cannot go for a scenic stroll here between the beginning of november and the end of december and wear earth tone clothing because you WILL get shot at. now whether or not the rednecks actually mistake you fot a deer during hunting season is debatable.

son of a BITCH i got pinkeye! what kind of crazy fucking disease is this?! i woke up the other morning with my left eye stuck completely SHUT with dried blood. yes i am VERY aware of how disgusting that may sound but can you imagine how SCARED I WAS?!? i thought my eye was about to dislodge and fall out. and since this is a first for me, im not all that familiar with the procedure involving re-insertion into the socket...but id better look it up just in case...

Sorry it's been so long guys, but I've just moved into University. It's been weird, and people have been really freaked out by me. I'm used to being a little extreme, but People have really been freaked out, and it's awful. I got told I was "Intimidating" by a guy, and that I looked 25. I'm 18. I've also been fairly Ill, and got 1 hr of sleep last night. But hey. The most importatnt thing, (and i'm sorry, I know it's getting dull), but THER'S STILL NO RELEASE DATE DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT!!!!!! At least the therapy? best of is out. People go buy! Back soon

Also anyone who likes Orgy, their sophmore album "Vapor Transmission" featuring 'Fiction (Dreams in Digital)'. 'Eva' and 'Opticon' is due to be released October 10th. people have the tendency to read a little to far into things and get ahead of themselves; they end up pidgenholing basically EVERYTHING they hear. i believe some things are done for the sake of a burgeoning scene but i dont see someone, in the heat of all this poppy teen stuff, writing incredibly emotional lyrics for the mere purpose of getting to be famous or making money. if that's ones goal, there are more efficient ways of doing it, like, say: assembling five dancing, singing, clearisil soaked boys and showcasing them for any label that will give them the time of day. im not judging; im just sayin', im not pro or con, im just sayin...

Yeah, I see what you mean. But I'd still love to hug Munky . . . This person I know got pissed at me one day for listening to 'depressing' music. I didn't say anything but he kept talking anyway. He told me that sad and mad are just the latest trend. He asked me if I really thought who ever I was listening to at the time was really that depressed. I didn't answer 'cause this person really scares me, but if I did I'd have said "Yeah, at the moment they wrote it anyway."

yeah, but im not talk about the 'huggable' looking kinna guy. aaron lewis just NEEDS one, know what i mean? he needs a hug and a 'its gonna be ok, man' pat on the back. i listen to staind for the first time in a while and caught the secret song off of it, and that has to be one of the most upwardly depressing songs ive ever heard---but in a GOOD way of course. he just needs a hug. hopefully, next time they swing through town, i can wrangle my way backstage and give him one.

professional murder music not out til january? i just got an advance copy the other day(i'm listening to it now!) and it says the street date is "halloween 2000". anyway the album is incredible especially "does it dream" w/ aimee.anyway that was my real point. i heard a demo of the song before and thought it was decent but now w/ aimee's backing vocals it's amazing.but the entire cd is awesome, definately get it whenever it comes out.
