Billy hang with Bonham -lolololol-hahahahah you just showed your cards!! Imbecile!!!
LB
-
yes, billy is replacable. anyone is replaceable. but at this point replacing billy would be like replacing aimee or jamie or erick for that matter. he is very much a part of theSTART. he played on initiation for god sakes. and personally i feel he's been the best drummer in theSTART thus far, and i know for a fact that i'm not alone in that opinion.
lauren
brooklyn, ny -
in fact I do know quite a bit of great rock drummers. I myself am a drummer of many years, so I think I know what I'm talking about. Ever heard of John Bonham? Ian Paice? Niel Piert (sorry if I spelled that wrong)? I guarentee you Billy could hang with these guys. But you know what, I'm bored with this... we all know Billy is an amazing individual, its just too bad that you can't see that. I'm done wasting my time on you since you obviously don't have a clue of what you are talking about.
Stormi
-
Sorry............ Just want people to know that he is very replaceable!!
LB
LA, CA USANDA -
gah, please just stop. honestly what is the point of being so negative when you know all of the people posting here are upset to begin with. :(
Christinainthebrine
-
Obviously you know nothing of great rock drummers!! Billy ia average -you clown!! Hate people who think they make a point by correcting spelling--loser!!
LB
LA, CA USANDA -
hm, no offense to the other drummers they've had (Scott & Brian were great), but I think Billy's the one who's brought the most to their sound. so it would be a big deal.
Phil
-
whoa, excuse me? Do you live under a fucking rock? Have you seen these guys live? Billy is one of the most amazing drummers I have ever had the privilage of knowing. All personal relations aside, he is one of my favorite drummers, and I am in awe everytime I watch him. But, you're obviously NOT a drummer. If you were you would at least have a little respect for the guy. Did anyone ever tell you if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all? I'd heed that advice and shut the fuck up. Thanks.
Stormi
-
Did anyone ask for your opinion? And it's Erick.
Jes(sic)a
-
Look billy really isn't that good of a drummer! He might be nice-i'm sure. He might have a good look-he does. But as a drummer, they can do way better than him!! Eric is dope though....
LB
LA , CA USandA -
No disrespect to any intervening members, but this line up seems more like a cohesive band unit than any since aimee/jamie/scott/mike, possibly inclusive (I never had the pleasure of seeing the early line up) It DOES look like a misunderstanding, but confirmation would still be nice.
I need new shoes.
Metal Malcolm
-
i'm totally thinking it's just a dumb rumor now. if it wasn't we would have heard about it on the site by now. i'm really sorry for freakin ya'll out.
monica
ok -
I don't even want to think about Billy not being in the band anymore. All I can say is that I hope this is just a nasty rumour. We love you Billy.
Jessica
-
We love Billy! Of all the members I've seen leave bands I like this would be the most traumatizing ;(.
Jes(sic)a
-
I couldn't have said that any better Stormi.
Amber <gwendavis13@yahoo.com>
San Antonio, TX -
Some drummers may be a dime a dozen... but not this one. Not Billy. He is something that no one else can touch. I'm well aware that Aimee and Jamie are the heart of this band, but Im tired of people not giving credit to the other two genius members of this band. I've followed this band for a few years now, and I have never loved them more than I do now. If all this rumor bullshit is true, I will continue to support this group as I always have, but I will be severely heartbroken. There are some musicians that are just NOT replaceable.
Stormi
-
Dummers are a dime a dozen... It's all about Aimee and Jamiee!!!
LB

So what? Do we have a drumemrless band again? I certainly hope not. Mr Brimblecom rocks my socks off.

i just really wish i knew if i had a show to go to friday night or not. i hate when this stuff is all confusing. it's not a big deal if i don't, but at this point i am probably going to have to go out there just to make sure because nobody can tell me what's going on otherwise. blah! hehehe

oogh. i was hoping this whole billy/no billy thing would be figured out by the end of the day. guess i was wrong. then again i'm thinking if it were true, we'd know ASAP.
brian
-
Six- did we ever figure out why Dallas was cancelled?
Stormi
-
Elizabeth, it doesn't look like the band will be anywhere in CO anytime soon. Sorry.
Jessica
Colorado Springs, -
well, plus it says Autopilot Off is taking their place... but that's who they are on tour with, so that wouldn't really make much since.
Stormi
-
i'm actually starting to think it is a mistake, actually. like even if they cancelled for OKC i don't think it's because the drummer quit, reggy may have misheard something. i would think if billy had quit it would be here first, and since obviously it's not...
monica
ok -
I think they made a mistake... hopefully...
Phil
-
ehh the 2nd time they played in OKC it was never announced on this site either but they were still here. it made it to the venue's site but that was it. and the 3rd time they played here it only got announced like a week before the show, right before they went on the GGT.
monica

i'm assuming the billy thing is a load o' crap, cos there was never an august 27th show scheduled to begin with.

I have to vent to you right now. I am agitated right now. Cantrell's lyrics/Staley's vocals (guitarists/vocalists/lyricists of Alice In Chains) are misrepresented in the closed captioning of the movie called "Singles". According to closed captioning, Staley is singing "There I was laid out on a table. Screamin' sweatin' and bare feet to the floor. In my life, as I saw you. Things I tried. To make you want me. But I was scared. Think of something. Scared to face. The dyin' nothing. Seen a circle waiting for
the light. It ain't like that anymore." HE NEVER USES the word LIGHT. That @#%$! pisses me off. How stupid are people? How much are they (the media/law) trying to keep us from the truth? They just get the biggest kick from being sadists when, at the same time, they are trying to get us to believe that we are "free". It appears we are all a bunch of masochists. The real lyrics go as follows: "There I was, laid out on a table. Screamin' sweat
and barefeet to the floor. In my life, I'd not soften. Things that cut, and burn so often. But I sit, think of somethin'. Scared to face, the dyin'
nothin,' See the CYCLE I'VE WAITED FOR. It ain't like that anymore." I mean @#%$!...the closed captioning version of the lyrics does not even rhyme as perfectly as the words he is actually singing. Nor do they include lyrics as ingenious as Cantrell's. IDIOTS!!! I am mad at how they (the media/law) try to brainwash us. Only people with no hearts would take advantage of the innocent who are hearing impaired. Anyway...just food for thought. WELCOME TO AMERICA!!! "smaller fish, so deep's the ocean" is wrong. He is singing "smaller fish, so huge the ocean." And instead of singing "into the blood again, same old drippin' was back (then)." He is really singing "Into the flood again. Same old trip it was back (then)"
GGGGRRRRRRRR!!!!!!! I am infuriated.
In case any of you are involved with "the mob," please understand that I would never intentionally inflict harm upon another human being. So please do not fake my suicide before I start rolling in cash. I just want to put you all in check. I care about The Pawn Shop Junkies. You probably all already know about this.
I may burn for confirming this post. Just know that my intentions are harmless.
I LOVE YOU ALL!

I'm liking the new pic very much. And those are some damn funky shoes.
On a UK note, is it wrong to be pissed off at the Butler Report? Shouldn't I just be used to the government avoiding the question by now? "Yes we lied to you, yes we went to war on false pretences, but that's just how government works, mmmmkay?"

Last nights show at the Troubaour was great (as usual). Aimee looked & sounded spectacular (as usual). Pretty good turnout for a Sun. Three new songs were played, and make me even more anxious for the new album. Only 1 thing still bothers me: WHY AREN'T THE START ON THE RADIO MORE?? The quality of their stuff is great & radio friendly songs abound! Not that I mind being able to see them in our home town at small venues, but if anybody deserves to be rich & famous, it's Aimee & the boys. Let's all line up to buy the new CD in August!!

Hello all, Hey siX...was that you on the air with Aimee last night? Heard her on that Indie 103.1...via the computer...really funny stuff...those guys were hysterical! Did anyone else get in to talk to her? I tried to recognize the names ('Omar WITH the make-up'!!) from the list here but they 'tunneled' so many people for calling...they hung up on the guy from Florida--so I knew they would ditch me in Md. too, LOL...Aimee was really funny...the stories were great...was hoping Jamie would have been there, too...the call from 'Huntington Beach' was cool! Hope some of the rest of you caught it..thanks Human for the email! of course...I listened 6-8 EST and not Pacific time...but heard some great music anyway...all of their commercials were a drag though but somebody's gotta pay the bills! have fun seeing them at all the shows..I envy you guys a LOT!

I went and saw The Start last Thursday at the Ottobar. Wow. It was my first concert experience ever and luckily the Start was as f*cking awesome as they were or it would have sucked! Too bad they had to play w/ such green bands. Anyways, the drummer made me sweat and when he gave out his drumsticks I was about to hand out some beatdowns to get them! And the lead singer is amazing. Wow. I'll definetly go to see them again.. even if I have to sit through the crap first. THE START OWNZ.

Hi there,
I used to post alot on here, but then I grew up and took on responsibility in the real world : (
As a result, the little Yahoo group 'All Things Aimee Echo' has been neglected, and I am looking for someone to take it over and breathe new life into it. Please have a look, join and let me know if you are interested... could be very cool as part of an Aimee related website. Take care!

Too short? No way. You forget alot of the bands that are out now grew up with Vinyl. It’s become a goal of bands these days to write and record an album with-in the time allotted on wax. I don’t know if you ever had the joy of listening to a record on vinyl. But it’s fun. And it’s short. It usually leads up to the band having a short time and the challenge to make something really fuckin good in a short time. That was the curse of the digital recording. Double albums were nothing new to the industry, but even those ran a little under an hour. But when the 90’s hit... people were hell bent on making double albums on CD that ran way over an hour per disk. Which left with the idea of, “Hey, we can make alot of bullshit and hopefully someone will find something worthy of saying,, ’this part is good’.” With the little time you have, you have to make it all good. You can’t leave it to where the listener is going to skip one track. You also have to look at it this way (going back to those that grew up in the golden age of wax) a short record meant an e.p. along the way... and b-sides.

i've been planning on getting the Cure, Far's re-release and theSTART of course. I will check out scarling. though. and yes to Auf der Maur, I'm sad I didn't get to watch their full set at the show. thanks for the suggestions. I think the Cradle of Filth single with Lennon is canceled though. they've removed the news of the single from her site and Jes(sic)a showed me on Blabbermouth.net (I think that was it, though I'm not positive) that Lennon is no longer going to London to record vocals. sad, isn't it? maybe her new record will still come out sometime this century.

Phil, if you haven't gotten the SCARLING. cd, i strongly suggest you get on it. the new cure cd drops june 29. Refused re-released a bunch of their old stuff on the 25th. New Morrissey came out. Far is re-releasing Water&Solutions (2disc set with DVD!!!) on june 15. we have new theSTART in august, and also new cradle of filth in august with Lennon Murphy doing guest vocals on one of the songs. thats all i can think of off the top of my head.

Today, on the street where I spent many a Halloween, a boy shot his father and killed his mother. Mother; two shots to the chest and one to the head. The father came running in and was shot in the chest. The boy is 16. It all started over an argument. Why am I typing this out? While recording the vocal track, “..it seemed that my pain was so comical, I would of kept my peace if I knew... you would walk away laughing..” it all went down. I’ve always believed there was a chemical tie to all of us. A tear in the sky to bring us all together. Call it a coincidence, but I call it synchronicity. I should have been sleeping when it happened. But I felt this drive to sing those words. I had to call the tracking quits after a while cause of the helicopters flying above. My prayers for tonite are for the Father and the family. This should have never happened. No matter how upset one can get at ma and pa, a gun should never be the final word.

i don't know if courtney love never had the potential to be a patti smith or a joni mitchell (i hesitate to say she never wrote any of hole's songs, but it does creep me out that she couldn't write a solo album without linda perry). right now she is certainly battling with total irrelevance and losing her mind and her much-anticipated solo album has done little to save rock'n'roll as we know it. hole were a pretty cool band but they weren't the only band doing what they were doing at the time, or even the best. they just had more balls. the day courtney writes the perfect rock song she keeps bragging that she practically invented and does it without the help of high-profile co-writers, i will quit ragging on her.

tickXtock

I never said myself in that statement. Please keep in mind i live in new orleans and the radio station down here is far from good.I take whatever music i can get.Im not saying love is a goddess becaues she is far from it.I was just saying that i was happy there was a women out there who wasn't taking off her clothes *not most of the time heh* to get records sold.Yes i do know who patti smith is and joni mitchell and janis joplin,i listen to it all.I like to keep myself well rounded, don't let my email address fool you.I don't like to place myself or anyone with a label and im sorry if i offended you im just sick of bands like amy lee and everything feeding off other people's work to get a job,yes i do realize kurt wrote a lot of courtney's stuff but im not even a kurt fan i hate him in fact, but then again that's just me.Please if there anything i missed or anyone you would like me to hear to change my mind let me know.

Worry not, Omar, I regularly worship at Patti Smith's altar. Her music AND her poetry...I love it all. She could wipe the floor with Courtney. So could Stevie Nicks, and, dare I say without all of the little punk kids making fun of me, Joni Mitchell.
Jessica
-
Kitty--“Penis,” “going through” and “slap in the face” should never be in the same paragraph. Especially around gutter mouths like me. But what is it that “you” are going through that is making proof? Are you speaking about “girls in rock”? Or are you speaking about.. Well, what? Honestly, for you to say (that is if your saying it this way) that Courtney being a woman and making something of herself with how she is now... I think that one step she has taken has taken this “Ovarian Rock” four steps back. Does anyone remember a great songwriter by the name of Patti Smith? Yea, she was/is a great writer. Now that is someone I could listen to without a guitar in the back round.
tickXtock <fashionvictum@aol.com>

I can't say I credit music any differently be it a male artist or a female artist. I don't think a musician should get anymore attention than another just because they are female. I think Courtney Love has, well, kind of worn out her welcome in a way. Going off of the "is it better to burn out or fade away" idea... she's definately burning out.

It's ridiculous. I had 4 essays to hand in last thursday. I managed to finish two of them, and then discovered there was a 5th essay I had no idea existed. I lose 5% every day it's late, and if I don't get them all in tomorrow (17 hours away) then I get nothing.

I really like the stuff on Pretty on the Inside, too. The songwriting may not be as refined as Live Through This, but there's a lot of emotion in it. That being said, I STILL think Melissa is greater than Courtney. As for Courtney's solo work, I haven't listened to much of it, but you can credit some of the songwriting on that to Linda Perry, friend of Pink and Christina Aguilera. As much as I loved Hole, I'm done with my brief Courtney worshipping phase. I do agree that there are worse song writers out there, but I really can't take her seriously anymore.
Jessica
-
I love courtney love and i agree with u metal malcom there are far more worse song writers out there. And i mean Hole was such a great grunge girl band to bad they are over. But courtney's new stuff while everyone thinks its not so great if u actually listen to the lyrics its just like wow. I think she is an awesome person who gets not credit where the credit is deserved
Brett aka echoSTART
-
I don't think Courtney neccessarily gets enough credit as a songwriter. Putting aside the kurt/corgan arguments, I liked a lot of songs on the first album and on My body: the hand grenade, as well as the other albums. Haven't heard her new solo stuff yet, but there are far worse songwriters maikng a living. Even if she does come across as a tad unhinged on occasion.
However, Mellissa, yes, Redheads, Yes

Yes, Miss Maur is an amazing bass player. At first I was shy to the sound of her voice. But then my ear woke from a sleep and remembered the real harmonies in Hole’s cover of Gold Dust Woman and in the last record. With out Miss Maur, it wouldn’t have been the same. About the Hole music... Well, Courtney was never really a great songwriter. Have you taken a listen to her first record? Second record was great cause Kurt wrote it. And the third one was all right cause Billy had more then a hand in it. I’ve said it since I first laid eyes on that vixen, “If I’m going to ever marry a musician it’s ganna be Maur.” I’m a sucker for singers and red heads. Yea, I know... I’m such a guy.

the lyrics of "death via satellite" are really dismaying these days. We saw that guy blowing up on a landmine in Tchetchen Republic. Our presidents and prime minister are really a bunch of dorks. I can't believe all the money invested in the space and military stuff will improve our living condition. I feel sorry for myself to be a weak controlled by people who was once hippies or generation X shit talkers then they fool us by purpose for their interest. Your topic invite us to be kind when we write here but I doubt the elite in our society read us as they don't give a f*** about what people they could find below them. They just provide more lies when we ask too much. I conclude on a positive and true note: I think A. Echo is a very good song writer and she diserve more attention from MTV (hahaha! MTV?) at least, she diserve to be hear and see (nice voice and so beautiful!) and the guys are good.

It seems like I only post on here anymore when people mention Melissa. Kitty's right, she is a goddess. Her solo works kicks Courtney's to the ground, then spits on it a few times. Hole always had amazing bassists who were far more talented than Miss Love.

I heard Melissa Auf Der Mur or however you spell it on HardDrive last night and she is actually really good.People should check her out she is going to be touring with the start very very soon.like in just a few days,a really good song is called "follow the waves".

I just wanted to say that I had the unique opportunity to see the START in Houma, LA. Of course, it was awesome, but foremost is the fact that an evening with the START in such a small city at the venue where they played speaks volumes about the continual existence of a heartbeat in music today to compliment its brain.

To be honest, I think it's still a bit amateurish, so i'd want to write a few more and get my production abilities up a bit before I consider trying to generate interest. Having said that, if you happen to be chatting to him, I guess it couldn't hurt ;)

The first time, and hopefully not taht laste time, I saw The Start I was blown away. The Girl (sorry I do not know her name) but she has some major talent. I'm not sure if this is rude to compare but she is WAY better than Gwen Stefani (in the older days and TODAY!) I think that The Start has the ability to go the fullest with a unique sound. GOOD JOB.

so hi to all of you!!
and for STEVE - I am a girl and I am an artist and I sing in a band with guys. No one really cares about my gender in all honesty - the guys (im pretty damn sure) dont resent me at all, and they dont get any less stage time than I do. I think believing that a female singer is any different to a male singer is a little short sighted - its the personality and talent that makes a singer - not the gender. Good luck finding someone, and feel free to email me. Have a good one all!! x liesey

FCC Crackdown
March 31st, 2004
Due to the recent breast-baring incident by Janet Jackson, and Bono's use of a vulgarity on the CBS network, the FCC have now gone to the next step in securing the airwaves from indecent material. The FCC have now started a serious retroactive crackdown on indecent lyrics. Unfortunately, Depeche Mode are one of the first bands to be victims of this. A number of tunes, including fan favorites such as "Personal Jesus", "Sea Of Sin" amd "I Want You Now" (all written by Martin L. Gore) have effectively been banned from U.S. airwaves.
Martin could not be reached for comment. When we have more details on this, we will spread the news.

Who's going to be banned next? theSTART? Marilyn Manson? Oingo Boingo?

k, there's a more detailed post going on the main forum, but i'm again planning a trip to north america. The difference this time is I actually have the money. The plan so far is to fly to Toronto, get a coach to michigan to stay with family, then travel down a coast. I haven't yet decided which, mainly as my knowledge of US geography is lame, but also because I'm not certain how much it's gonna cost. I need advice, and if possible, offers of people to show me round major cities (I don't really want to get stabbed on holiday)
My budget looks like it's gonna be around £800, which I think comes out as around $1400-1500. So what do people think
Note: I realise I could probably do most of this research myself, but i'm lazy.

Kenickie - Nice...I seem to remember reading about him starting a new label or something a few months back? Can't wait to hear the new stuff, the most recent bc releases have kicked ass.
Last time the start toured the UK, I found a new girlfriend a day or two after I saw them. This time it took 5 days. And she's unbelievable. I accept that it's the early honeymoon stages and all, and it's not perfect (she can be really quiet sometimes) but I mean, seriously..... we breifly stopped at hers after a night out, and in the few seconds I got to see her room, I noted two guitars, a floor covered in cd's clothes and old copies of the NME, the Guardian and the New Statesman (a british current affairs magazine for anyone who hasn't heard of it, which is probably everyone outside the UK) and some seriously funky posters. She's already introduced me to new bands, she even takes the same drugs as me.... I sat back a couple of days ago and just surveyed the situation. I was laying in bed with my girlfriend sharing a joint with David Bowie playing on her stereo.
On Vinyl.
This may be love.

Metal Malcolm

yeah that's another thing---common misperception by many is that the groom dry lake facility or area 51 or whatever you want to call that godforsaken place is that it is a united states military industrial research complex. however, it is NOT military-run nor is it military protected. the atomic energy commission set that joint up under the DOE and good ole wackenhut corp provides the security.
kt
-
before the US department of energy bought the last hill overlooking groom lake, you could go out and just sit there and watch. and videotape if you wanted. there are hours of that shit floating around. but now you can't go anywhere near the place.
kt
-
this makes me want to sit in the desert with a video camera and refuse to leave until i see aliens. or go crazy and at least think i see aliens.
stef
-
keep them to myself? we've made countless copies. for the first two weeks or so after that day in october we had at least one party of people over to see it every night. those assholes at mufon emailed all of us directly with their bullshit. while what happened to us is typical, in a broader sense of the scene this is the same reason no one responded to a guy like Bob Lazar. this is NOT, however, the same reason that people never responded well to wackos like adamski or dan fry or albert coe or howard menger who probably all at one time or another had the same kind of thing happen but just couldn't let it go of it when nobody listened to their story or looked closely at their pictures or really examined any film they shot. so they went crazy and started making shit up. we call those folks contactees, by the way. (the contactee 'movement', not to be confused with the abductee 'phenomenon') on the other what you might find are the more modern, reptoids'n greys MJ-12 nazi's-on-mars weirdos like this guy bennewitz a while back. he was listening intently to some bizarre radio frequencies out in the desert (DULCE,NM) one day and started writing and publishing the shit he was hearing, which detailed alien races controlling everything from big bunkers underground. basically his whole schtick was right out of that animal farm song by clutch. anyway, after years of creaming at deaf ears about reptoids and cloning vats and death rays and what not, after he goes crazy and dies, it comes to light that there was an intelligence group OF the government specifically put together to perform as a sort of creative department wherein they would write out elabotately detailed, far out scenarios amd disinformation better than most b scifi flicks can muster, and feed it via high bandwidth radio DIRECTLY TO THIS FUCKIN BENNEWITZ GUY WHO WAS POKING AROUND THEIR SECRET FREQUENCIES AND GETTING A LITTLE TO NOSY FOR COMFORT. slowly, over time they completely discredited him and drove him crazy. so you see. on one level this shits all cool and funny. but on another it isn't. Supposedly the best shit ever was filmed by a woman in derbyshire, in the UK. some of what she shot is available on the net, but since she has quite a catalogue, obviously the best is not going to be made public. fox purchased the SHIT from her in 2000 for like twenty grand. it was rumored fox was going to make it public bought its been literally locked in vault ever since with no word on when it will ever be seen. this is almost a game, folks. almost.
kt
-
Kenickie - No, sadly I missed PGMG... I think there may have been a friends band playing that night. I know some people who were going though, I'll ask for reports.

hey folks. i haven't been here in a million years. see some lovely old faces mostly new ones now. i usually have a story when i wander onto this part of the site with some shit going on and this time is certainly no different. i think one of the last times i was here, a lone time ago, i posted a message about videotaping a ufo. i dont think i ever got to follow that one up; its a real hoot. on sunday, october 19th my roommates and i were loafing around the house like we usually do. it was a beautiful day outside, with zero clouds and zero wind. they went out to have a smoke on the front porch and leer at our creepy neighbor. they spotted something unusual in the sky and came inside to get me. without telling me why they pulled me outside and pointed over our house to the east. moving very slowly but deliberatley, at a moderate altitude inconsistent with the flightpaths of our city, was a silver glint. at first glance you know it isn't a plane; there is no contrail, its far to low for fuselage and wings to not be visible, and its moving to slow. it is too high and to bright to be helicopter. immediately what you want to assume, connectiong just those threads while being confronted by this thing, that the most obvious is a balloon. its just a balloon, drifing. thats all it is, we said to eachother, dismissively. its just a really big...silver...balloon. we kept staring though. and suddenly, right at that perfect moment when we're all three staring at the damn thing, right then right there, it stopped. at the same time we all stammered and stuttered and cursed. there are two camcorders and one tripod in our house, this we all realize within that chorus of crackling lightbulbs above our heads at this...this thing...which is just sitting there. still. after a fury of shuffling and digging for tapes and batteries my roommate R was out front training his 800x digital zoom on the motherfucker, MANUAL FOCUS. he had to steady himself againt my car in order to close in on the thing and fill the frame with it in focus. at this same moment my other roommate S is iinside digging for his tripod. The object has at this point resumed its course on what would eventually be a complete semicircle over our area, having come in directly from the east, before stopping the first time we saw it. when it would move the speed was deliberate and steady. when it would stop it would stop. R caught this several times with serval zooms using, amongst many other things, a tree in our front yard as a refernce point behind wich the thing would start booking, all the while not a breeze stirs the leaves on the tree itself. You see, in the zooms, a clearly defined elliptical shape that, on film, appears blazing, luminescent orange. by these shots in R's tape, when the thing has reached it's northernmost point in the halfcircle it made over our heads before heading west on its original course, S has finally screwed his camera onto his tripod in our back yard, on the other side of the house from us, and is trying to capture this thing on its way off. this is where it starts to get hairy. S never took his camera off AUTOFOCUS, and was more concerned with trying to get a centered tipod shot of the thing than he was zooming in and focusing. all of this plus S only begins filming after the thing is at its closest. consequently most of S's footage, shot with only a 500x zoom, is of a blurry white dot that jumps all over the place because of the jostling of the tripod, as well as sways in and out of the obviuos out of focus diamond shape.
we immediately filed reports on the internet with the Mutual Ufo Network, or MUFON. with a week, they sent a wacky pair of investigators over to our house to have us fill out a bunch of paperwork and turn over copies of our tapes for analysis. these guys were a couple of grizzled old fat texas boys had probably been chasing these things for years and thought of every case as the next big maybe so. when we showed them our footage, we showed them S's first, recording off his camcorder onto a VHS for them to take. they immediately looked at eachhother and sighed with dissatisfaction. one of them said they thought we jad a weather balloon on our hands. they told us exaclty what we expected to hear about S's tape---it was out of focus, too far away, and made no use of any reference points that could help in the analysis. thats when we nodded quietly and put on R's tape and began to record, which, for them was experiencing the whole encounter backward but was certainly better for effect, as their eyes dimmed and they got quiet too. at the end the had very grave looks on their faces and they told us they knew someone who might be very interested in taking a look at our tape. on their way out with a copy, S's then R's on one VHS, the one who did most of the talking told us with all convivtion to mislabel all our copies. "My Cousins Wedding" or something, he said. we all laughed. no i'm dead serious, he replied, the out the door he went and we never saw him again. and the point? the gist my friends? oh we're almost there. you see, i just want you all to know that that shit on the x-files, its all more or less true. four months go by and we finally get a three sentence letter from mufon. it basically chastises: it was out of focus, too far away, and made no use of any reference points that could help in the analysis. what the fuck? you ask(as did we)? could a multination investigational organization like mufon's expert photo-optic analyzers completely overlook the meat of a videotaped encounter in which the photographer clearly did all those things right? (that being R?) Ok so on the tape we gave those fucking guys there's like ten seconds or so of scrungy guys with dreads bang on instruments in our garage but SURELY they knew there was MORE AFTER THAT!?!?!? you all know that? the answer is no because, according to them, that's all they have. there is no other footage on the tape. the tape WE MADE FOR THEM. or at least for those two guys who came to our house. listen folks. that shit aint just some funny sci fi movie. or some tv show. weird shit's happening. who took the meat off our shit before it got to the top? not even they can give us a straight answer on how many hands were laid on the goddamn thing going up the chain so what the fuck. i dont know. there's a damn news station right up the street. we should've just gone there. keep your eyes on the sky, folks, but STAY AWAY FROM THOSE FUCKING PEOPLE!

tickXtock <fashionvictum@aol.com>
Westminster, CA -
I don't wish to get started on the JFK theories, although I am interested, and I was fairly disappointed by the recent UK TV show on it which was pretty much an hour of "Ok folks, move along, nothing to see here"
HOWEVER
I am disgusted by the events of the last few days in the UK. The government said Iraq could deploy WMD's within 45 minutes. It was then pretty much proven that what a lie. A BBC reporter suggests that the government may have known it was a lie, and it's the BBC who are losing their governers. It's some kind of weird reverse logic, saying that if someone accuses you of lying, you don't need to prove you were telling the truth.

Oh god, don't start the JFK conspiracies, I've had enough of that from last school year.

Ella <greywings_@hotmail.com>

yeah, right after he was shot she climbed onto the trunk and picked up pieces of jack's brain and skull. jackie told the other woman in the car, the governor's wife... i don't remember the name (she's the only one alive today who was in that car), that she had some of her husband's brains in her hands. the funny thing about the zapruder film is that you can see jfk's forehead explode but most of the witnesses say that they saw the back of his head explode. even the first coroners say that the back of the president's head was missing. also, in the zapruder film, after kennedy is shot the first time and he puts his arms up around his throat jackie sorta holds him up so he stays sitting upright. meanwhile, the governor (who was shot almost simultaneously) had ducked down in his wife's lap. when the president had been shot the first time don't you think he would have ducked before the fatal head shot? after the first shot wouldn't the car either speed the hell up or come to a stop? instead it was just driving along at 11 mph, slowed to 6, and then sped away after the "third" shot. and the only evidence that could wholly prove where the shots came from would be jfk's brain, which the government has somehow lost. i wish that was an overstatement but the fucking brain is gone without a trace. sorry about the long post but this is a subject that i enjoy talking about.

you know what's great about the kennedy assassination (and this is totally unrelated to anything)... i was watching the zapruder film in my public opinion and propaganda class and i was sort of struck by jackie kennedy climbing onto the back of the car right after it happened. i thought she was trying to get away. did some reading and it turns out she was trying to collect bits of jfk's skull that had splattered all over the trunk of the car. now that's quick thinking! and that's my morbid input for the day. OH BTW THESTART NEED TO COME TO THE EAST COAST OMG OMG OMG U GUYS RULE. aaand i'm off to fail my philosophy quiz.

cbs are just choosing not to show it. true nobody watches cbs but a lot of people do watch the superbowl. it's getting a bit of press but apparently cbs have no interest in changing anything as i guess the white house just passed some law allowing them and a few of the other major networks to expand and blahblahblah stupid.
stef
-
Unfortunately wouldn't be illegal to ban the ad in the uk. Just need the right lawyers, the wrong time and wrong people. Lots of ways to do that type of things regardless of the human rights act.
rae
UK -
nobody respects network television anyway. is it literally banned or cbs just doesn't want to show it? coz they can pick and choose what adds they want to run, they're not violating anybody's constitutional rights. but when they ban something for real and start calling the artist "unamerican" is where i'd draw the line. besides, the average age of cbs viewers is like 60 years old so they probably wouldn't even know what moveon.org or moby is.
~puke barrel spending~

that is an excellent video. It's quite obvious why Team Bush wouldn't want thay on TV... especially durring the superbowl. But I've got three words for them: freedom of speech!
Stormi
-
i don't know how many of you heard about the moveon.org bush in 30 seconds ad contest, but the winner was a really cool ad called child's pay and the idea was that the ad would be shown during the superbowl... however cbs have opted NOT to run the ad or an ad by peta (claiming they are too "controversial"), but WILL show an ad sponsored by the white house. click my name to see the moveon.org ad and send a petition to cbs.

labels and bands always say a certain date for an album to come out, but shit always happens and it's never when they say its going to happen. Ill be happy if i have it by august. (i set my expectations low so i dont get dissapointed, you should try it)

I watched Oven Fresh to see the video and then vote for it. I noticed that Fuse messed up and misinformed the viewers. They placed another band name with their song in place of TheStart and the 1234. I don't know if anyone else picked up on this but I just wanted to let you all know that and I hope it doesn't happen again.

that's kinda odd... Aimee has been saying it will be out in April. I wonder if it got pushed back a month.

Almond shaped eyes? For some reason (and I'm willing to suggest lack of sleep and excessive last minute essay work) That concept scares me. I have no idea what it means, but i'm getting some nasty images of people with various nuts for eyes.

Tonight went and saw a private acoustic show with Mellowdrone and theSTART. The other acoustic openers that I didn't know were really good as well. Mellowdrone is awesome if no one has heard them before. Scott Ellis who used to be in theSTART is the drummer for that band now. theSTART (which was only Aimee and Jaime performing) did a couple of songs- she sounded great!

I was injured in a car-truck accident in 1962 when I was 5 years old. I had a crushed left foot, broken right ankle, and was knocked out for 11 days. I have had several experimental operations done on me. Some of them didn't turn out right, but I'm still alive and still walking.

Finally I heard something fresh, new and something that isn't a cliche' where everyone is singing it that it turns into an annoying theme song, thank god it didn't turn out like that. ;-) I already exposed a couple of people to your songs they liked it very much especially "her song" and "gorgeouse" its so so rhytmic to my ears I LoVE iT!!! anyhow create more good songs and please don't turn into a cliche' like everyone else is, its annoyingly uncool.
