canada is fabulous; i adore their bizarre peacekeeping, maple-leaved ways.

yeah good old canada. 18 to drink/smoke in some provinces and 19 in others.
and i do believe the actual consent age is 14 in ontario, well that's what i
read a few years ago anyway, they were trying to change it to 16 but who knows.
what i find strange is you gotta be 16 to smoke a cigarette but 19 to buy it.
does this make sense?

nailed too. age of consent is sixteen up there and you just turned legal
drinking age. go on up, sip some brew, knock some boots and puff on a fat cuban
cigar afterward. that country is run by hedonists or something. god bless

my friends i miss you all so very much. i have just finished a month long
tour of working in hell. this is also known as 7-11, where i worked the
graveyard shift, from 10pm to 6am every other night, while attending school
during the day, from 7:30am on into the afternoon, with evening classes as late
as 9:30pm. i went to work a half hour later and slaved till dawn. everybody
elses' monday, tuesday, wed, thurs, and friday were two waking days for me. i
drank nothing but coffee, and relied on various bummed prescription uppers to
keep walking, to keep functioning. i earned eight bucks an hour but after a
month of this i was the walking dead. people who claim to be insomniacs can kiss
my ass. over my last week however, i began looking forward to my new guerrila
public service scheme: feeding the homeless. working the night shift at 7-11
means throwing away hundreds of perfectly edible doughnuts, hotdogs, sandwiches,
biscuits, cookies, muffins, etc etc...and NO we can't keep them we're not
SUPPOSED to keep them but fuck that. i know where people starve in this city and
goddammit i'm going to do my bit and throw food at hungry homeless people. which
is what i did. all last week my friends and i drove around in a busted up pinto
with trashbags full of stuff and fed people. the best was those guys who stand
on the side of the road with signs. we had bets going on who could hit however
many bums square in the face with whatever food items, kind of like a drive-by
feeding. a turkey(sandwich) shoot if you will. the fun all came to an abrupt end
when we were driving down south congress avenue looking for a bum to throw a
sandwich at when we spotted this prime specimen, this old bent haggard man on a
bus stop bench. an esteemed associate of mine, in the passenger seat, managed to
nail him right in the face with an egg-salad sandwich and not thirty seconds
later we were all lined up on the sidewalk surrounded by three unmarked police
cars (two crown vics and an F-150) being searched by several undercover cops for
paraphenalia. turns out the bum my friend clocked with the egg salad sandwich
was an undercover officer involved in a prostitution sting. we all apologized
once the police found nothing that could easily explain our behavior on our
persons and left.

Right. It finally happened. I got to meet theSTART. Anyone who doesn't want
to hear about it, skip uo to the next message. I found my friend Ben was going
to see Strung out, and he gave me a lift there. Due to many directional
problems, We didn't get there until about 7pm, and I had very little on me. No
change of clothes, no camera, no washing gear, just some cigarettes, a little
weed, and my wallet. We found the venue, and after a little wandering, a
cowardly moment deciding not to knock on the tour bus incase I disturbed the
bands, and £11 on a ticket, I got in and watched a passable support band. After
getting the best spot I could, which ended up right in front of Jeffs bass cab
at the front, I waited. The set was end to end amazing. I won't describe it all,
as you would get bored. Suffice to say there was much flying of hair, I got to
scream "Hey" in a very hoarse voice several times during shakedown, and much
hugging occured. The 1234 is now my favourite song ever. And They WILL play Hang
on me when they play nottingham. Or i'll cry. Afterwards I went over to speak to
jamie for bit, then a big group hug thing went on at the merch stall with Fiona,
Aimee, Shalroth, Jen, Rachel, Me, and just about everyone else. I got all three
of my Cds signed by all the band, I had probably the best night of my life, and
it feels like a real lifetime memory has just occured . And the new ep is
staggering. We hung out, we chilled, and after sprung out I had to go. Jen,
Rachel and Frankie took me for a drink, and we got a cab back to listen to Bjork
and get stoned. After waking up at three the next afternoon, I found my way into
town, and after much faffing around due to lacking a working mobile, I got
picked up by ben, and we made our way slowly home. He then tells me that after
Strung Out finished, he went over to talk to them, and ended up spending hours
on the tour bus with all of them, including going for pizza with theSTART.
Dammit. btw, Aimee, the CD I gave you wasn't my bands demo, as I didn't have
time to pick any up. It's a compilation we were on. My band is track 4, but
they're all good. Just incase you wondered.....

We need to make the schools a top priority and this will help. Some children
don't get the one on one help they need due to a high class size, and this will
help bring class size down. I've seen first hand how children can get held back
due to this, so please, as a future kindergarten teacher, I say vote yes on

flick kinda girl, I'd take any Horror movie or David Lynch flick anyday to a
movie about love and cuddle-stuff, but goddamn, this movie was amazing. Not much
else to say about it, but I was just wondering who has seen it? And if you have,
do you think the idea of freezing yourself after death and having "dreams" and
what not would be something you would want? It seems like a whole slew of
headaches. Personally I'd just be dead and over with it, but I guess people have
a reason to do the things they do. In some cases anyway. Well, just posting
something that hopefully will get some response........ I was considering
posting this on the thisisthestart forum but alot of the people over there don't
seem to be movie fans.

clothes that show up in thrift stores around this time. "it's the most wonderful

You can order it online on amazon.com or borders website, or you can look for
it at a best buy or circut city. The cd you would be looking for is Shakedown!
and they also have an E.P. which is simply self titled, but it has been dubbed
the death via satellite E.P. The E.P I havent seen in stores but you can order
it from www.smallstone.com thats the record company that is releasing the

Ugh. Last night I was hanging with my friend around our mall and we decided
to walk across the big highway to Newbury Comics (A cd store for those that dont
have them) to search for some music. After awhile I asked the gal there if they
had any music by "theSTART" (naturally, it was listed under "Start") As we were
looking for some, this guy next to us was like "You're looking for the start? I
saw them with Thirce and coheed and cambria" in this total snide way and was
giving me a look like I was some kinda loser. So I proceeded to say some cute
little remark and walked off, giving him dirty looks and such. So then he starts
stalking us! Ah! I seem to have a reaccuring problem with this lol ;) ;) So then
my friend and I basically told him off and the salesgirl laughed at him and as
they didn't have the CD I needed we left and ran to the nearest Chilies because
he was still following us. (We made it away ok heh) Damn

i dunno man, when i first read all those articles on the nirvana
controversies i was unbelievably upset at courtney for being so blatantly more
about the money than about preserving nirvana's legacy and whatnot, but now
after all the back-and-forth i've lost respect for dave and krist as well. bah.
kurt's diaries may explain more to the public about what was going on inside his
head, but i have more respect for people who choose to just leave him alone. he
died (presumably) so the public would stop picking him apart, and it's obvious
that he would have absolutely loathed having his most personal writings
published. it's sad that everybody he supposedly trusted sees his life as a big
shiny opportunity for money.
stefanie
-
i know. she knows how to use the media for her own benefit. like how she
tried to hype "you know you're right" to try and be the next teen spirit. but i
didn't ask the question to bash courtney. just wondering about opinions on the
journal thing :o)
natalie
ny -
Ok. First off, my opinion, and my opinion only. Courtney sucks for so many
reasons. Just her whole personality is wrong. She is one of those people who
talks shit, and then when its turned around and people talk about her she throws
a huge fit and whines to anyone on Mtv or anyone who will listen. That woman is
full of contradictions. The world needs less of people like her. But then again
where would almost all the politicians go?
sapphire
-
i agree with you guys. and jacob, yr right about people being mad either way.
mostly because they don't know what they want. espically in this situation where
one persona (basically) has control over the release of stuff. maybe they just
want an excuse to bitch about Courtney.
natalie
ny -
It's disrespectful and takes away the novelty of the journal in the first
place. People always want to read other peoples journals too see if they are in
them, and then when they realize they aren't, they get angry. I have a feeling
that people will clammer for it to only read it, be possibly let down, and then
resent her for releasing it. And btw, wasn't everyone mad that Courtney wasn't
realising stuff, and now she is, and now people are mad? Hmmm.
Jacob
-
he may be dead, but that doesn't mean we should all read his diary. when you
die would you want your diary or private writings to be published? sure there
are a lot of people that want to read kurt's diary but when written, it wasn't
intended for the world to read. i saw the newsweek article, (havent read it yet)
about this and there are photographs of a couple pages of his diary in there. i
dunno, personally i think they shouldn't publish them cause i wouldn't want my
writings to be published. i don't see any good reason to publish kurt's diary
other than people are nosey.
maise
-
he's dead. he's dead and nothing more than dust in an urn in courtney love's
closet right now. i dont think he cares. i say the bastard deserves it. i resent
the shit out of Kurt Cobain. he pissed me off. let me down.
kt
-
this is off topic of the sniper or anything like that but...
i was
wondering if anyone wanted to voice their opinions on the publishing of Kurt
Cobains journals. its kind of a touchie subject. because publishing someones
private journal for the masses (or anyone) to read is rape to a certain degree.
then again, its Kurt. and i'd love to read more from him. so. i have mixed
feelings
anyone else?

Ms.Mia Valentine <blueamphetamine@hotmail.com>

You know, sometimes you think things in your life cannot get any better/worse
and then something happens. You get hit with a thought that should never cross
your mind. You sit there and think about all the things in life that have made
you happy, and the things in life that have made you sad. You think about the
people who help you in life, and those who dont and you sort out who are the
real friends. And then it hits you. Whatever. I have alot of time to think about
things seeing that I don't have a job at the moment and I'm not liking what
conclusions I have come to. You dont know who your real friends are until
something horrible happens and you need a shoulder to cry on and they all turn
their backs on you except for a few. Or you find out they talk shit about you
behind your back and ruin any friendships you may have had or were starting.
Whatever, I will shut up now. And sorry for the lack of anything political in my
post. I just needed to vent somewhere other than the Aol Instant Message box
that connects blueamphetamine to Maise.

The cow says....moo? Someone was talking about the shootings today, about how
could someone be so evil. I replied with "Well, there are certainly more evil
and more dangerous things going on in the world than this." I was given the look
of death. O, right, I forgot. Most americans who get off talking about current
events prefer to think that the things happening in or to our country are the
most important things.
Jacob
-
it is true that they can trace a bullet to a weapon, as well as the shooter
from fingerprints on the gun (if they find a gun with fingerprints). but since
there are multiple shootings on multiple days, there's no way to know that one
single person pulled the trigger everytime without a photograph, witness, video
or some sort of proof. it is going to be a long search and a long prosecution
(if they find anyone). Eddie Izzard quote - the National Rifle Association says
that, "Guns don't kill people, uh, people do." But I think - I think the gun
helps. You know? I think it helps. I just think just standing there going,
"Bang!" That's not going to kill too many people, is it? You'd have to be really
dodgy on the heart to have that - "Bang! Bang! Boom! Bang! Rat-a-tat boom!
Bang!" I think they should just try that, you know.

here's the defense lawyer's analogy i love so much: if you wake up and
there's snow on the ground, is that proof that it snowed the night before? is it

kt

lawyers can claim anything. they find the gun then they find the gun. thats
still only circumstantial as to the potenetial suspect's involvement. sure he
had the gun that shot these (so far) 12 people, but does that necessarily mean
this guy pulled the trigger all 11 times, if any at all?

if they find a weapon.

can't they trace it back to the gun kt? i was under the impression that they

it is scary that they haven't caught this person or people that have been
hunting people, but also with many crimes, there are copycat crimes. you know
there's some nutjob watching tv learning from all the news reports on how to do
it better. the news reports all the happenings with bin laden. someone over
there could be watching cnn via satellite, keeping tabs and learning from it and
thats why we are still looking for him.

goddammit i wondered earlier if anyone else was thinking about the
turkeyshoot going on up east. this is a completely new ballgame and no one is
worried. the guy he popped just the other night at that barbeque joint brought
on more roadblocks and vehicle searches than anything in that area in recent
history. everytime he does this now it will escalate and pretty soon the
hysteria itself will be arresting. the bent genius of this psycho's plan,
whether he knows it or not, is that if they catch him (them?)in the act, it will
be nearly impossible to actually, by law tie him to ANY of the other shootings.
unless he's been videotaping or photographing each pop, they'll only be able to
pin the shooting he'd just carried out. very scary stuff.

what the hell is happening here?
i must admit that i've always and
continue to admire anonymous posts from opinionated people offering vague
criticisms merely for their own enjoyment. but come the fuck on, people, aren't
there other things going on in the world that you should be talking about? i
know you fucking talk about them when you're not online and happen to catch a
news segment or be in the same room with someone who actually knows something
and overhear them talking about important shit. maybe some of you really use the
interent for something more than just an expensive version of the telephone and
you look up current events. we used to talk about this shit. it was part of our
vocabulary and more interesting opinionated people who never identified
themselves would come on the board and say something that made us form an
opinion of our own or at least just think. but it seems like nothing is on our
minds but shitty music controversies and who's cooler now that so and so sucks.
you go to shows and the bands on stage are talking about these little global
happenings and you all yell and pretend to be interested but i guess nobody
fucking cares. because if you did you'd be discussing it and helping to do
things. whoever isn't old enough to vote can do shit through their
school.
sometimes we find solace in things like music and use that to ignore
other things that we're tired of hearing about or afraid of dealing with. you
have to realize how important it is to pay attention to things and stay
informed. this might be sounding lame but not one year ago we all would have
been talking about iraq right now and the dc sniper shootings and us politics
and things going on and personal issues and now there's none of that. and the
people who used to be the most involved in these discussions and conversations
don't hardly post anymore. i ask again, what the hell is
happening?

Aimee and Jamie though :) If your reading this, you both are sooooooo incredibly
down to earth and real and just...such an inspiring force. I mean, you just
exhert this awesome vibe that each and every one of your fans matters. You
truely are a wonderful band. Oh and also, I just wanna thank my friend Mike for
getting me into you guys! And hi to Steph and Sara if your reading this as well.
And Aimee, my name is Jake (duh right, its only listed above) and i was the kid
with the gelled black hair that was running down my face and onto my shirt heh.
In my nervousness I forgot to introduce myself :op. Anyways, just wanted to
express my apprication and joy for all that happened tonight! ROCK ON!

the birch hill show was great. the crowd could have been better, but when
kids have their minds set on what something is supposed to sound like. if a band
doesn't fit that mold its hard to get a leg in the door. but we love 'em and
that counts. Stef + Mia, it was definatly nice meeting you. Punchy! yr next! oh
yeah. the hoodies are so comfy :o)

Hey. I'd appreciate if everyone/anyone would be
so kind as to check out Morgan Storm.
They have 2 songs on mp3.com which you can listen to by clicking here. They're
my friends band. They've been around for a few years already. In fact, if you
live in the nyc/metro area you might have heard of them. i think wSOU started to
play their song "in your shadow". So. If you can, check it out. and let me know
what you think.
